Katherine Pagano

Senior Director
Hometown: Philadelphia, PA

Pronouns: she/her/hers

After years of working in the nonprofit sector, Kate has seen first-hand that strengthening nonprofits has a ripple effect across communities that can bring powerful change. While her nonprofit background has primarily been in development and fundraising, the roles have varied from stewardship and donor relations to event planning. However, they all have one thing in common – building relationships. She enjoys using these experiences to help mission driven organizations grow their institutional development programs and find partners who strongly align with their values.

Prior to working with Elevate, Kate managed the stewardship of endowed funds at Georgetown University Law Center. She also spent five years supporting the nonprofit sector in Philadelphia and its surrounding region while working for United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. She earned her BS in Business Administration from Drexel University with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Sociology. Additionally, she holds a certificate in Social Responsibility in Business from Drexel University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.

In her spare time, you can find Kate spending time with friends and family – especially at the beach! She is always up for a discussion on Gilmore Girls, tea, or yoga philosophy.

What is your hidden talent?

Getting other people to confide in me. I must have one of those faces.

What punctuation mark would you be and why?

I would be a question mark because I'm always contemplating a question...or two or three.

What is your grammatical pet peeve?

The misuse of literally when describing something that is practically, figuratively, or metaphorically true, yet not actually true.
