Shanna brings 15 years of nonprofit experience to Elevate, driven by a passion for empowering organizations. Her journey began with two AmeriCorps terms in Montana, serving as a VISTA member and Campus Corps Leader. This experience laid the foundation for a diverse career in the nonprofit sector. Before joining Elevate, Shanna worked as an independent consultant, partnering with organizations focused on human services, child welfare, international healthcare, environmental conservation, and capacity building. As a Senior Grant Writer at Elevate, she crafts compelling proposals that showcase clients’ transformative work and secure vital funding.

Shanna holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Montana and BA degrees in English, Environmental Studies, and Spanish from King’s College.

Outside of work, you can find Shanna participating in Citizen Science to track the migratory cycles of Northern Minnesota birds, writing literary science fantasy novels, or doting upon her beloved canine empress, Nala.
